On 9 October 2024, rail freight corridors Orient / East-Med, Rhine-Danube and North Sea - Baltic held their very first joint advisory group meeting in the city of thousand spires, the scenic Praha.
At the same time, it was the very last advisory group meeting of RFC Orient / East-Med, which – in line with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 1679/2024 – shall be integrated into other corridors.
Mr Lőrinc Czakó, chair of the corridor’s Management Board, highlighted that the integration had been carefully planned, so as to allow seamless transition. Reserve capacity and pre-arranged train paths offered by RFC OEM shall be published and allocated by rail freight corridors Rhine–Danube, Alpine–Western Balkan and Amber in the future, but will displayed similarly in the IT-application PCS.
On behalf of the infrastructure managers, he expressed his gratitude to the advisory groups of both the railway undertakings and the terminals for the twelve years of fruitful cooperation. He conveyed his special thanks to the spokesperson of the railway undertakings, Mr Gyula Farkas, and the C-OSS manager, Mr József Ádám Balogh, who had persistently and tirelessly supported RFC OEM, and contributed to its success from the very first day of its existence.
Stakeholders are kindly asked to look for upcoming advisory groups’ meetings on RFC Rhine–Danube’s website.
