The European coordinator of the Orient/East-Med Core Network Corridor (CNC), Mr Mathieu Grosch organized the 5th Working Group Meeting of the CNC Forum on Cross-Border Railway issues in cooperation with the Rail Freight Corridor Orient/East-Med (RFC) on 17 February 2021 as a video conference.
The participants were rail-related stakeholders from the CNC Forum, spokespersons and members of the RFC Advisory Group, governance bodies and experts of the RFC (authorities and infrastructure managers), representatives from the Rail Infrastructure Management bodies and interested representatives of the international railway market.
The infrastructure managers reported about positive results. The decrease of waiting time is progressing well, the targeted maximum waiting time of 120 minutes is reached or converged to by 9 border crossings out of 12.
Besides the task force reports useful information could be collected about the general evolution of the corridor, cleaning up of national rules, the impact of COVID and RNE data quality strategy.
